Sex Worker Right in the US (Briefing for Funders).



In recent years, the issue of sex worker rights has gained increasing public attention. LGBTQ issue from policing and criminalization to economic justice as LGBTQ communities still face higher rates of discrimination in social services and employment, trading sex offers an economic safety net. The most recent National Transgender Discrimination Survey found that 11% of respondents had engaged in sex work to meet their needs. Another 2008 study found that trans youth were eight times more likely than their cis gender peers to trade sex for shelter. Cecilia Gentili who works for HIV/AIDS prevention, care and advocacy and Toni-Michelle Williams from SNaP co. in Atlanta and Aria Sa'id from San Francisco spoken for the trans gender community in their area about sex workers rights fight in human trafficking.
